What Are Veneers?
Veneers are a common type of cosmetic dentistry treatment in Pflugerville. A veneer is a thin, hollow, tooth-shaped piece of porcelain. Each veneer is custom-built to fit over your tooth perfectly, and to cover up and replace the natural enamel. With a set of veneers from Dr. Homsi at Primavera Dental, you can cover up almost any cosmetic flaw in your smile, from stains to chips, uneven teeth, and more.
Did You Know?
The first porcelain veneers were first used in the 1920s and 1930s to temporarily improve the appearance of actors in Hollywood films.
What Cosmetic Issues Can Veneers Treat?
Veneers can be used to treat almost any cosmetic problem with your teeth. This includes deep stains that can’t be removed with teeth whitening, uneven and crooked teeth, misshapen or small teeth, gaps between your teeth, and even chipped teeth, in some cases. With a set of veneers, you can completely transform your smile.
However, it’s important to note that veneers are only meant to be cosmetic. They are not intended to treat serious oral health problems like damaged or decayed teeth. If you do not have a healthy mouth, you may need additional treatment before you can get veneers.
BENEFITS OF INVISALIGN
Invisalign doesn’t disrupt your smile because the clear aligners are unnoticeable and blend in with your teeth. Even when patients need to get Invisalign attachments bonded to their teeth, these are made of tooth-colored resin that blends in with the teeth and is covered with the aligners.
Invisalign is much more hygienic than braces because you’re able to remove them to thoroughly brush and floss. This also prevents food particles and stains from being trapped in your aligners, since you take them out before eating and can easily clean the surfaces of your aligners.
When patients wear braces, they need to avoid many of their favorite foods that are hard, sticky, or crunchy because they can break or get stuck in their braces. You can enjoy a restriction-free diet with Invisalign. The pressure exerted on your teeth is also greatly minimized thanks to our Smart Track aligners which place gentle pressure on your teeth.
Invisalign is also associated with fewer appointments and faster treatment times.

The Veneers Placement Process
Cosmetic Consultation
Before you can get veneers in Pflugerville from Primavera Dental Group, you’ll need to come into our office for a consultation with Dr. Homsi. Together, you can discuss your smile, your goals, and your budget. Dr. Homsi can explore all of your options for enhancing your smile, including veneers.
Veneer Prep And Fitting
If you’re approved for veneers, you’ll come back for a follow-up at Primavera Dental. Dr. Homsi will clean your teeth and numb your mouth. Then, he will gently remove a thin layer of enamel from each tooth that’s getting a veneer. After this, he will take impressions and images of your teeth. These will be sent to a dental lab where your permanent veneers will be made.
Crafting Your Veneers
After your teeth have been prepped, Dr. Homsi will attach a set of temporary veneers to protect them, and send you home. Then, he will work with a dental lab to build your final set of permanent, porcelain veneers. It usually takes 2-3 weeks for the lab to build your veneers and send them back to our office.
Permanent Veneer Placement
Once your permanent veneers arrive at our office, you’ll come back for your last appointment. Our dentist in Pflugerville will remove your temporaries, clean your teeth, and then check the fit of your permanent porcelain veneers. If everything looks good, he’ll bond them in place with dental cement. After one last polish, you’ll be sent home to enjoy your new smile.
